Frequently asked questions
- Will my content get stretched?
- No. The scale factor is the smaller of the two dimensions' ratios, so the aspect ratio is kept and the page is padded rather than distorted. The scaled content is then centred, which is the part tools that only change the page box get wrong.
- What happens to landscape pages?
- They stay landscape. The target size is rotated to match each page's own orientation, so a mixed portrait-and-landscape document does not come back all upright.
- What is the difference between Letter and A4?
- A4 is 210 × 297 mm, standard almost everywhere. Letter is 216 × 279 mm, used in the US and Canada — slightly wider and shorter. Printing one on the other leaves uneven margins, which is what this fixes.
- Does resizing reduce quality?
- No. PDF content is vector where the original was vector, so scaling stays sharp at any size. Embedded images are scaled by the viewer at display time, exactly as before.
