Frequently asked questions
- Is it exactly like PowerPoint?
- No, and no browser tool can promise that. Positions, sizes, pictures and text come straight out of the file, but the fonts do not: your file names a font we do not have, so we substitute, and a line can wrap in a different place. Check any slide where text nearly fills its box.
- What is left out?
- Charts, SmartArt, drawn shapes, gradients and effects. Those are drawing instructions rather than content, and reproducing them is a different piece of work. The tool counts what it left out and tells you after converting.
- Why not just photograph each slide?
- Because then the text would stop being text. A picture of a slide cannot be searched, copied or read aloud by a screen reader, and it prints worse. Redrawing keeps all of that, at the cost of the fonts.
- What if the result is wrong?
- Open the presentation in PowerPoint or WPS Office and export the PDF from there, which is exact because the program has the fonts. This tool exists for when that is not to hand, and for when the file should not leave your device.
