These guides exist because some questions cannot be answered by a calculator. A number tells you the system is eight kilowatts; it does not tell you whether the quote in front of you is reasonable, what the grid actually pays for a unit you send back, or why the bill went up when nothing in the house changed.

Each one is written against the same sources as the tools themselves, with the tariff date and the figures it uses stated in the text rather than assumed. Where something is uncertain, it says so instead of rounding the doubt away.
