Frequently asked questions
- Does it keep the slide order?
- Yes, and that matters more than it sounds. PowerPoint does not rename the files inside a .pptx when you drag a slide to the front, so reading them in file order can show a deck nobody has ever seen. The order here is the one the deck presents.
- Are speaker notes included?
- Only if you tick the box. They come after each slide, under their own label, so you can tell them apart from what is on screen.
- What about pictures, charts and SmartArt?
- Text inside shapes and tables comes through. A chart’s underlying data and any words baked into a picture do not, because neither is text in the file.
- Can it read .ppt?
- No, only .pptx. The older binary format cannot be read in any browser. Open it in PowerPoint or WPS Office and save it as .pptx first.
