Frequently asked questions
- Which image formats are accepted?
- JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and Apple's HEIC/HEIF, in any mix. The format is read from each file's actual contents, so a renamed file is handled correctly. JPG and PNG are embedded as they are; WebP, GIF and HEIC are converted to JPEG first, because the PDF format cannot hold them directly.
- Are my images uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything happens inside your browser and nothing is sent over the network — which is what makes this safe for passports, contracts and medical papers.
- Should I choose A4 or original size?
- Choose A4 if the PDF will be printed or sent somewhere official — every page comes out the same standard size with the image centred. Choose original size to keep the exact pixel dimensions, which suits screenshots and images meant only for screens.
- Does it reduce quality?
- With “Original quality”, JPG and PNG are embedded without re-encoding; HEIC, WebP and GIF become high-quality JPEGs, an unavoidable and usually invisible loss. “Smaller file” (the default) also resizes photos to 2000 px and re-encodes them at high quality — a fraction of the size, still sharp to print. PNGs are only ever downscaled, never turned into JPEG.
- Can I mix photos and screenshots?
- Yes. Each image becomes one page. With A4 selected every page is the same size with the image centred; with original size each page takes the dimensions of its own image.
