Video to MP3

Take the sound out of a video and keep it as an MP3.

A lecture, a song from a clip, a voice recording someone sent as a video: the sound is already in the file and does not need to be recorded again. Choose a bitrate and the audio track is written out as an MP3 on your own device.

How to use it

  1. Add the video.
  2. Choose the audio quality.
  3. Press Extract the audio and download the MP3.

Frequently asked questions

Which bitrate should I choose?
192 kbps is right for almost everything and is the default. Use 320 for music you care about, or 96 for speech, where the difference is inaudible and the file is a third of the size.
Does it re-record the sound?
It re-encodes it into MP3, which is a small loss. The original audio in a video is already compressed, so converting it always involves one more step. That is true of every tool that does this, including desktop ones.
Can I get a piece rather than the whole thing?
Extract the whole track first, then use Trim audio to keep the part you want. Cutting an MP3 is instant.
Which video formats work?
MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI and 3GP, which covers phone recordings, screen captures and anything downloaded from the web.
