Frequently asked questions
- Do the clips have to be the same size?
- No. Each one is scaled to fit the height you pick, and anything that does not match the shape gets black bars rather than being stretched. Clips already the right shape are unaffected.
- Why is it slower than joining files on my computer?
- Because every clip is re-encoded. A desktop tool can sometimes copy streams straight through, but only when the files match exactly in codec, resolution and frame rate, which clips from two different phones almost never do.
- What happens if one clip has no sound?
- The result is joined without sound, and it says so. Mixing a silent clip into a batch with audio would fail outright, so the tool takes the option that still produces a file.
- How many can I join at once?
- Ten. The limit is memory: everything is held in your browser at the same time, and a phone tab runs out long before a laptop does.
