- MP3 if anything will play it. WAV if a program demands uncompressed audio, remembering it is about ten times larger. M4A for Apple devices. FLAC to keep every detail at roughly half the size of WAV.
- Does converting lose quality?
- Going to MP3, OGG or M4A, yes, a little, once. Going to WAV or FLAC loses nothing, but it also cannot restore what an earlier compression already removed.
- Can I convert a video file here?
- Yes. Drop in an MP4 or WebM and the sound comes out in the format you chose; the picture is discarded.
- Is there a size limit?
- Only what your browser can hold. Audio is far smaller than video, so an hour-long recording is no trouble.
