Frequently asked questions

Why will it not accept Cyrillic text?
The fonts built into the PDF format only cover Latin characters. Drawing Cyrillic means embedding a font file, which would add a large download to every visit for a feature most people do not need. The tool tells you rather than producing a file full of blank boxes.
Can the watermark be removed?
It is drawn into the page content, so it will not come off by toggling a setting. It is not security, though — anyone determined enough can edit it out. Treat it as a clear label, not protection.
What opacity should I use?
Around 20-30% is usually right: clearly visible, but the text underneath stays readable. Go higher only when the watermark matters more than the content, such as a sample document you do not want used.
Does it go on every page?
Yes, every page gets the same watermark, centred and rotated by the angle you choose. Per-page watermarks are not supported.
