Frequently asked questions
- Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
- No. The document is read into your browser and the new file is built there. Nothing is transmitted or stored, so you can safely split private documents such as scanned identity papers or signed agreements.
- How do I write the page ranges?
- Separate entries with commas. A single number takes one page, and two numbers with a dash take everything between them inclusive. So 1-3, 5, 8-10 keeps pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10. Pages that do not exist in the document are ignored rather than causing an error.
- Does it change the original file?
- No. The original is only read, never modified. The result is a new PDF containing copies of the pages you chose, and the file on your device stays exactly as it was.
- Can I get each page as a separate file?
- Not yet — this tool produces one new PDF from the pages you select. To get pages individually, run it once per page. A dedicated split-into-separate-files mode is planned.
- Are the extracted pages lower quality?
- No. Pages are copied without re-encoding, so text remains selectable and searchable and images keep their original resolution. The result is usually much smaller than the original simply because it has fewer pages.
