Frequently asked questions
- What counts as "changed"?
- The text content differs in a way that isn't just whitespace. A page reformatted with identical wording reads as identical; a single word swapped reads as changed.
- Does it compare images or just text?
- Text drives the changed/identical decision, since that answers "what changed" directly and works on documents of any length without rendering every page. Pages flagged as changed also show real thumbnails from both documents side by side, so a visual difference is still one click away.
- What if the two PDFs have different page counts?
- Pages past the end of the shorter document are marked "Added" or "Removed" rather than forced into a false comparison against nothing.
- Is either file uploaded?
- No. Both are read and compared entirely in your browser.
