- What is lost?
- Everything that is not text: formatting, images, headers and footers, and the structure of tables. Table contents are kept but the layout is not.
- Does Cyrillic come through correctly?
- Yes. The text is saved as UTF-8, which handles Russian and Uzbek Cyrillic without any configuration.
- Can it read .doc?
- No — only .docx. The older binary format is not readable in a browser; re-save it as .docx first.
- Is the file uploaded?
- No. Everything happens in your browser.
