Frequently asked questions

Where do the rates come from?
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan, which publishes official rates once a working day. If that source is unreachable the converter falls back to exchangerate-api.com. The source and date are always shown under the result, so you know exactly what you are looking at.
Why does my bank give a different number?
Because the official rate is a reference, not a price. Banks and exchange offices add a spread and fees, so the rate you actually get is usually a little worse. Treat this figure as the baseline to compare against, not what you will receive.
How often does it update?
The central bank publishes once per working day, so rates do not move during the day or at weekends. The result is cached for an hour in your browser to avoid refetching on every visit.
Is my data sent anywhere?
Only the request for public rates leaves your browser. The amounts you type are never transmitted — the conversion is arithmetic done locally on the downloaded rate table.
